Payment
We accept most major forms of payment; PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, and Square. We can also create custom website listings so you can check out and use any major credit card. Cash is accepted for in-person sales.
Shipping
We ship all orders via FedEx Priority Overnight.
Shipping charges depend on your location and will be calculated by zip code. Shipping cost is not included in the sale price unless specifically stated. All shipping supplies including climate control packs are included in quoted shipping price.
We prefer to ship on Tuesdays; special circumstances can be made for Monday and Wednesday shipping if Tuesday’s weather does not permit.
Shipping is weather dependent and proper weather conditions of a daytime high below 82 degrees F as well as a nighttime low of 42 degrees F.
Animals will be held until ideal shipping weather for no extra cost.
Live Arrival Guarantee
Live arrival is guaranteed, assuming the following conditions.
Temperatures must fall within the safe range.
Safe temperatures are considered between 42°F (overnight low) and 82°F (daytime high) for the entire duration of the shipment. Cryopaks will be provided in every shipment at no extra charge; we do not ship with heat packs.
Celestial Exotics LLC will check the temperatures from the departing location and mid-way sorting facility before booking all shipments and will hold any shipments we consider unsafe. Guaranteeing proper shipping temperatures and weather in the receiving location is the responsibility of the buyer. This is to ensure weather patterns outside of daily high and low temperatures will not impact the safe arrival of the animal. Please check your forecast prior to scheduling a shipment day. If your area does not have safe shipping conditions at the time of your purchase we are happy to hold your animal(s) until a safe delivery window is reached, at no charge to you.
We will ensure proper mid-way sorting facility temperatures once a label is created and we are able to see where the package is routed.
Animals are shipped via FedEx Overnight Priority only. Live arrival is guaranteed if your order is picked up directly from a FedEx hub.
We prefer to ship to FedEx hubs ONLY. Hubs are climate-controlled facilities that will hold your package in a secure area until you arrive. This is the least stressful method of delivery, as animals avoid being out on a non-climate controlled delivery truck, they avoid potentially rough roads and careless handling by delivery men, and most importantly they are not left on a potentially hot and sunny porch until you get off of work to bring them inside. We WILL ship to residential addresses by request, but we cannot guarantee live arrival for residential deliveries due to the increased risk involved.
If the gecko arrives deceased we must get photo proof within an hour of package pickup, or delivery time.
If photographic proof is not sent within an hour of the delivery time provided by FedEx, the live arrival guarantee is void.
Safe shipping conditions are always at OUR discretion.
We may choose to not ship your animal at any time if we feel it is unsafe. (i.e. increased holiday shipping volumes, natural disasters, inclement weather etc)
We cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred on behalf of the carrier.
Including but not limited to; improper package handling, loss of package etc.
Shipping damage claims must be made with the carrier and shipping company, which we will provide any necessary information to aid in the loss claim. Following a case resolution with the shipping company, we will work with the buyer to come to a reasonable solution.
We must be provided with an accurate shipping address.
We will send your order to the shipping address you provide with your order. If this address is incorrect and the shipment is delayed as a result, the live arrival guarantee is void.
D.O.A’s
In the very rare instant you receive an animal that has perished during shipment, we must be contacted by message or email within 1 hour of the shipment being delivered - no exceptions!
Photographic proof will be required in all cases. At our discretion, we may require the expired animal be returned to us. Once our investigation is complete, compensation will be issued in the form of either a comparable replacement animal or credit. Credit will be for the cost of the animal only; shipping costs will not count toward credit for a future animal. Cash refunds will not be given under any circumstances.
Gecko Tails / Nose Rub
Geckos dropping their tail is a completely natural process and does not harm or devalue the animal at all. Geckos can drop their tails at any time for any reason; because of this, we do not offer a guarantee on gecko tails during shipping. Tail drops during shipping are very rare but can happen. If your gecko drops his tail while still in our care we will inform you in a timely manner, but no refunds or exchanges of gecko will be offered. The absence of a tail does not change the genetic lineage of your gecko or decrease the value or health of the animal, therefore no discounts will be given for dropped tails.
Animals may be distressed in shipping and rub their nose on their cup in effort to get free. This is not considered a medical emergency and in most cases will resolve within a shed or two. We are not responsible for nose rub that may occur during transit.
Sexing Policy / Pore Sexing
We do not guarantee any sex of our geckos until they reach sexual maturity. All geckos are considered unsexed until they show obvious signs of being male, or reach a size that we are comfortable confirming them to be females, typically 25 grams for crested geckos. We can pore sex younger animals with 90%+ accuracy and inform you whether we think the animal is a possible male or female, but these predictions do not guarantee that the animal will end up that sex by sexual maturity.
No refunds or exchanges will be given if a young animal previously purchased as unsexed matures to be a different sex than you were hoping for.
Genetic Deformity / Pet Only Animals
All animals we sell are free of genetic health concerns and deformities unless specifically mentioned. We strive to produce high quality animals that are healthy and breeder quality- however, any number of factors can cause minor deformity (i.e. issues during formation in incubation, genetic issues)
Our goal at Celestial Exotics is to improve the captive population of the species we breed; under no circumstances will we breed an animal with genetic deformity. Animals that were thought to be healthy that start to display concerning health or structural changes will be immediately removed from our breeding program. These animals and their offspring may be released as “pet only” animals and placed for adoption, and are not to be bred under any circumstances. Lineage is not provided on animals labeled “pet-only” and buyer agrees to not breed said animal upon purchasing.
Animals that display minor deformity (such as polydactyl) and do not have a reduced quality of life may be sold for a reduced rate as a “pet only” animal. Animals sold as “pet-only” shall not be bred or sold with intention of being used as breeding animals under any circumstances. If said animal is resold, it must be sold marked explicitly as “pet-only” to the next buyer, and the selling party assumes the responsibility of the future buyer to uphold our terms to not breed said animal or sell said animal for breeding purposes. If an animal sold as “pet-only” is found to have been bred whether intentionally or by negligence, Celestial Exotics LLC assumes the right to repossess the animal from the buyer with no refund being given.
Proven Animals / Fertility
Animals that have successfully produced offspring will be specifically marked as “proven”. These animals, to our knowledge, are fertile and capable of producing viable offspring. Due to a number of environmental factors affecting the ability to breed, we are unable to guarantee animals sold will breed or produce offspring in conditions other than our own.
Several species sold by Celestial Exotics LLC require very specific conditions in order to breed. If these conditions are not met- these animals may not be prolific for the buyer.
Breeding animals are purchased at the risk of the buyer, and the buyer understands an animal that has successfully produced offspring for Celestial Exotics LLC may not do so under the care of the buyer. Buyer will not hold Celestial Exotics LLC accountable for animals (proven or otherwise) that do not successfully breed in the buyer’s program. In cases like these, please reach out for advice on any environmental and husbandry changes that could be affecting the animal’s ability to reproduce successfully.
Animal Colors
We strive to provide clear and accurate photos of each gecko for sale. We do not artificially enhance the appearance of our animals at all in the photo editing process and aim for all pictures to be as true-to-life as possible. Crested Geckos can change color drastically for a large number of reasons. Some geckos may be photographed not entirely fired up (such as pale-based Dalmatians) which can cause them to look different than they will when you receive them (likely fired up). Different computer monitors, cell phones, and tablet screens can make colors appear different depending on the device’s white balance. For older animals, younger photos of the animal may be used on our website and social media pages to show the animal at their best, which may not be accurate to the animal’s current colors. That being said, we offer no guarantees on color based on photos, but will do our best to accurately portray each animal we sell.
Payment Plans
We offer short-term payment plans as followed:
~ 25% of the total purchase price as a down payment.
~ 30 days to complete payment in full. The remainder of the payment must be completed by 11:59 EST on the 30th day after the payment plan has begun.
~ Down payments are non-refundable. If full payment is not made at the end of 30 days, the down payment is forfeited.
~ If full payment is not made at the end of 30 days, any amount paid over the down payment is converted to store credit.
~ It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure payments are made within the required time frame. You can pay as often or infrequently as you would like, as long as it is within the 30-day period. We prefer to invoice through PayPal for ease of tracking and payments.
~ Unless the deposit has been sent, all animals are available on a first come first serve basis. No animals are held without a deposit.
~ Once a deposit is paid, we will consider the animal “on hold” and will not accept or entertain other offers for said animal. The animal will be placed back for sale after 30 days if the remaining balance is not fulfilled.
~ The deposit covers the cost of the animal(s) care while being placed on hold. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable to cover the loss of income and potential sale of the animal while on hold.
~ If a payment plan is not fulfilled within the 30-day time frame, you will not be eligible to make purchases using a payment plan on any other animals sold by Celestial Exotics.
~ In the unlikely event that an animal placed on hold were to fall ill or expire, all balance paid including the 25% deposit will be refunded.
Local Pickup
We offer local pickup in the Detroit Metro and Cincinnati area.
We typically vend the Cin City Reptile Expo on a monthly basis, as well as NARBC Tinley Park (March and October), NARBC Schaumburg, and NARBC St Louis. Animals paid in full can be picked up at any expo we are vending.
Refusal of Sale
We have the right to refuse a sale to anyone at any time. We keep and honor our “do not sell” list for the safety and well-being of the animals we produce. We reserve the right to not specify the reason for refusing the sale.
Requirements for Purchase
You must be 18 years or older or have parental permission to purchase any animal from Celestial Exotics.
If we discover or assume that this term is not met, we have the right to require proof of age or parental consent, and in turn, refuse the sale if the requirement is not met.
