We believe “Halloween” is a gecko with two colors; orange and black. Finding a true halloween animal can be difficult as many of the original bicolor orange and black animals were paired to create tricolors. Thanks to a few breeders maintaining true halloween lines and happy accidents with failed tricolors, we can continue to work with this beautiful trait.

As we’ve found with our other projects (such as blonde revival), it is much easier to build what you want with animals that are steps in the right direction rather than trying to undo a trait that has been too built upon - such as trying to remove white from a tricolor to achieve halloween, or using a faded tricolor in hopes of getting black and white bicolors (blondes).

Our goal with our halloween project is heavily saturated black and orange animals with no white and as little pinstriping as possible. The halloweens we have produced have orange coloration on their tails and fire down to a beautiful lavender base with bright orange pattern. We are hopeful that these animals will keep their saturation into maturity and beyond.

Our first year producing halloweens resulted in 14 offspring, all of which were true halloweens with no white. The consistency of our first year was phenomenal; 11 of 14 offspring were sold in under 2 weeks to other breeders, one single animal that was less breeder quality being welcomed into a very excited pet home, and the other 2 animals being held back.

The animal(s) below were the founding breeders of the halloween project. We highlight them below to give credit to the breeders that helped start our projects!
